It is that time again – when the Indie Game Studio splits its old crowded exoskeleton, extrudes its expanding glistening body from the husk of its former carapace, then makes its home anew in a fresh office. There, it shall plant down the Birthing Nodules, each of which shall shimmer forth in a flurry of exuberant budding-pods from which the larvae shall hatch.
In this case, we just deployed the Birthing Nodules a mere 30 feet down the hall from the old office (which suits our poor backs just fine.)
It’s a moving montage! Imagine a pumping 80’s rock soundtrack. (Left to right: Mr. Whitman, wizard, Micah, Joseph, Mr. Whitman again via use of magic, Sean, Daniel.)
Our company has grown. Space is needed; space to be filled with the nourishing off-the-wall game development our customers expect and demand.
David: “My god, it’s full of couches.”
And it is glorious – we even get our very own sink. We shall work like kings! Well, kings that can wash dishes in their office. So not much like kings in any way, all told, because I don’t expect doing dishes comes up much in the monarch business.
It’s pretty nice for us though.
Daniel destroys his nemeses – useless network equipment and old cables – with his CEO eye lasers.
Go Team Art! We totally got our room set up first because we’re awesome. (From left to right, Sean on environments, David on directing & etc, and Joseph on characters. Not pictured: Mr. Triolo aka The Other Chris. He is like 2000 miles away. We’ll implant him in one of these corners sooner or later.)
The code/lunch room roils chaotically as the coders do their thing. Organize faster, coders! (Nicholas on the left, hiding Micah behind his technical direction, Daniel in the center making executive decisions, and Mr. Whitman – official UI Wizard according to PC Gamer – on the right.)
After the move, Nicholas shows us how it’s done. (Stand back folks! The average human body cannot contain slouching of this magnitude.)
Right, so with that all done we’ll return to our regular work on Clockwork Empires.
I, for one, would love to hear the water cooler’s alluded-to message.

I now know forever.
Nice place guys! Glad you finally got some good and comfy digs. And hey, no blood on the walls, no blood on the floor.
Well, not yet.
Those tags are very descriptive. I found out about all your other interesting threads with “where the heck is the foosball table I thought this was a game studio”, this totally improved my life in more points than humanly imaginable.
Where is The Pit?
It’s the weird Terrarium outside the window. It’s a bit of a climb, and we’re going to have to add benches and the Chains of Moloch to it when we get a chance.
Nice, clean atmosphere free of diggles. Coincidence or the clever use of doors?
Note second to last picture, hiding cleverly in the very center of frame with deceptive smallness. (Yessss, there it is.)
My friend had this to say:
1:42 AM – [REDACTED]: david is creepy
1:42 AM – [REDACTED]: like some mobster
1:43 AM – [REDACTED]: or druggist
1:43 AM – [REDACTED]: sleep deprived one
I’m really much more pleasant after I’ve had my coffee.
Is gaslamp games plant friendly? The office is marvelous and just needs some dredmor themed decorations. And of course tons of new art concepts for CE. Glad you guys moved. I am sure that 1.1.3 patch is JUST around the corner now 🙂 and hopefully you guys answer some more questions in the CE thread about dynamic music!
David is in charge of the decoration, but I don’t think he’s had enough coffee yet.
all it needs now is a “hang in there baby!” poster
The tags. They’re a more succint summary than anything else I’ve seen yet.
Goodness me, that is some pretty amazing slouch.
